How to Prevent Water Stains

Your kitchen countertops are a staple of the entire room! They pull together the entire theme you have going and of course, you don’t want your countertops to tarnish or stain. The most common types of stains are Water Stains!

Water is an easy source to build up on your countertop, whether it be from spilling, or overflowing from washing the dishes, or even just a leaky faucet, it’s hard to keep your countertops completely clear of the water. But there are plenty of ways to prevent this from happening, so you don’t have to worry about how to get rid of them down the line!

When you have a certain type of material, such as granite or quartz, etc. it’s important to research and know how to maintain your countertops based on the material they are made of.

Make sure to clean up!

After you’ve washed the dishes or cooked on the stove, it’s easy to forget to wipe down your counters for any excess water that is bound to wind up on your countertops. Keep a few dish towels on hand, whether it be in a cabinet or drawer to quickly wipe up that water and voila, no worries about staining from that water buildup!

Seal Your Countertops

There are plenty of ways to seal your countertops, but of course, you want to make sure you’re using the right product for the job! Make sure that if you use a product, that it’s meant for the specific stone your countertop is made of. An example of a sealer for granite countertops is the Granite Gold Sealer Spray. This spray “creates a barrier which provides maximum surface protection against stains from oil, water, coffee, wine, and   other liquids, and protects against etches and soil build up.”
